We're here today with Alex Blake, Co Founder of Envie Fitness Woonona - one of the leading women's gyms in Wollongong's Northern Suburbs.

As a busy mum of 2 Alex is so inspiring, juggling busy family life with running a successful business plus maintaining an active healthy lifestyle.

On top of everything, Envie Fitness Woonona is also about to launch a exciting MAJOR EVENT, the first of it's kind in the Illawarra, GLOW :: Silent Yoga, which we're super excited to hear more about.

What do you love about owning your own business -  EnVie Fitness Woonona?

We have been here now for almost 10 years and it’s a real privilege to work with an amazing group of ladies and help them to positively influence their friends and families around them - Seeing the ripple effect of women making positive changes is so rewarding and fulfilling.

We have worked hard at creating an amazing little community at EnVie Fitness and the friendships and results we have seen over the last 10 years is just amazing.

Watching women's confidence grow, health improve, relationships improve, reaching fitness and weight loss goals is inspiring and to be honest, very humbling.

Women are traditionally very tough on themselves so we work hard to provide a warm, encouraging environment that also pushes the boundaries and helps our members continually challenge themselves.


As a busy mum juggling kids, owning your own business and maintaining an active healthy lifestyle – What’s your secret to finding time to work out?


I plan my week at the start of each week - I sit down and look at the work/family/social commitments we have and I schedule it in.

If I don't have a plan, it doesn't work!



How would you describe your diet?

I predominately eat a Paleo based diet approximately 90% of the time and have minimal processed sugars. It makes me feel energized, not bloated and the impact it has had on my son's skin, health and behaviour has been amazing.

I cook/make almost everything from scratch, snacks, juice, sauces, sticks etc.


What are your top tips for those wanting to lose weight, get fit and healthy?

Be consistent with what you do and remember you will only get out what you out in.

Exercise and nutrition go hand in hand, you can't have one without the other.......and be patient. It's so easy to get disheartened about working hard and not getting results, there is no magic answer, it's all about consistency and if you need help, seek someone that can assist you.

It's all about prioritizing yourself and your health and not being too hard on yourself.


What do you usually eat for breakfast? 

My fav breakfast is actually an At Health Australia Protein Smoothie. No word of a lie!

I like to mix;

  • Scoop of the At Health Australia Naturally Naked Protein Powder 
  • Coconut Water with a little Coconut Milk
  • Baby Spinach
  • Fresh Mint
  • Macadamia Nuts
  • Walnuts
  • Real Vanilla Essence
  • Cinnamon
